I am often asked what works better – a private session or a group circle. To me it is not about the effectiveness, both ways will address what you most need right now. Each format has its pros and cons and it is up to you what feels right at any given moment. For example, if you don’t like groups in general, being in a circle could feel a bit too much, however the power of having live representatives will not be accessible to you in any other way. On the other hand some people miss the community and support feeling of a group if they are in a one-to-one setting. There is something healing in witnessing other people work and being a representative for them. In a private session you get to do all the work, experience what is happening in any particular situation. This changes your angle of perception on an issue, brings more understanding and has a healing effect. All attention of the facilitator is on you and your issue, which, sometimes, is exactly what you need. It is also only between you two. Constellation circles are confidential spaces; however there are always more than two people present to hear what you are going through. If there is a completely confidential issue to work with in a circle it can be done with a prior conversation and a blind constellation – without naming representatives or the issue. If you are still not sure what is the right format for you, feel free to contact me. I am always happy to talk about systemic constellations and how it can help you. -A.S. (Image: unknown)

AuthorI am fascinated by the Systemic Family Constellations work and everything shamanic. I study it, practice it, research it. Here, I am sharing what I learn and hope it can be of use to somebody interested in healing their families, communities and lives. In 2019 I published some of my poetry inspired by systemic work in this journal. It is available as PDF, Kindle or printed at the link above.
